To use as a dry herb, mix one tablespoon of the herb in eight ounces of warm water, and drink one cup daily. Yerba Santa, which means "Holy Weed," was so named by Spanish missionaries after having been introduced to its benefits by local Indian tribes. In addition to its effects as a bronchial remedy, Yerba Santa has also been used as an appetite stimulant, a digestive aid and as a treatment for hemorrhoids. It was also formerly used as a poultice for sores and acne. Native Americans also used Yerba Santa as an anti-inflammatory and to treat colds, allergies and rheumatism. Recent investigations into Yerba Santa have yielded twelve new flavonoids that showed promise as anticarcinogens, and it may also chemo-protective properties.
Recommended Dosage:
Take two (2) capsules, one (1) to two (2) times each day with water at mealtimes.
Contraindications:
