History and Uses:
Chinese Foxglove is native to China, where it is considered a protector of the liver and a treatment for ailments due to yin deficiency. Chinese studies have shown that Chinese Foxglove is effective in treating hepatitis and, in conjunction with Licorice Root, may be helpful in reducing the effects of rheumatoid arthritis. It is believed that the presence of iridoid glycosides in Chinese Foxglove, which are thought to stimulate the adrenal glands to produce anti-inflammatories, are responsible for its ability to ease arthritis pain. These same glycosides are believed to contribute to the production of sex hormones in menopausal women, and the herb has also been found to be effective in reducing cramps, urinary tract problems, as well as regulating menstrual flow. Chinese Foxglove is rich in iron, and has thus been used in the treatment of anemia. It is also considered beneficial in combating hypoglycemia and has been used to treat fatigue and to promote the healing of injured bones. Chinese Foxglove is considered a mild laxative and demulcent, and has been used to increase energy and strengthen the immune system. It is also valued for its antibacterial, antifungal, caridotonic and diuretic properties.
Recommended Dosage:
Take two (2) Capsules, two (2) times each day with water at mealtimes.
Contraindications:
