History and Uses:
Cnidium Monnier comes from a plant that grows in China, and whose seeds are used in a variety of applications in classical Chinese medicine. In fact, Cnidium seeds are found in bulk in many Chinese pharmacies and health food stores. Traditional uses have included its use for various skin conditions and also as a natural libido booster for men. The primary constituents of this herb include glucides, osthol, coumarins, hepato-protective sesquiterpenes and imperatorin, with osthol being considered the key active constituent. Several preliminary lab studies suggest that Cnidium Monnier has antifungal, antibacterial and antihistamine properties. Cnidium may also have some value in combating malignant disease, but human trials have not yet been performed to validate this claim. Cnidium Monnier is often found in combination with other well-known herbal aphrodisiac herbs, such as Catuaba, Muirapauma, Passion Flower, Maca, Horny Goat Weed, Tribulis Terrestris and Yohimbe Bark, although commercial products may greatly exaggerate their claims of improved erectile function, increase in stamina and sexual energy, higher intensity of orgasmic climaxes and overall enhanced libido.

Recommended Dosage:
Take one (1) capsule daily with water and food. Do not take on an empty stomach. Do not exceed recommended dosage.

Contraindications:
Although there are no current definitive warnings listed with the use of Cnidium Monnier, it is not advisable for pregnant or nursing women to use this herb unless under the care of a physician. The American Herbal Products Association gives Cnidium a Class I rating, which means that it is safe when taken in the recommended doses.
