Independence Stop-Smoking

(10-Day) Support Program

About Smoking
No sensible person starts smoking or chewing tobacco because they want to become addicted; in fact, most people either don't think that they will, or just don't think about it at all.  Nicotine is an extremely addictive drug.  As a matter of fact, almost everyone who uses it becomes addicted very quickly.  This fact isn't stated to discourage you, but rather to make you take a realistic view of this habit.  Millions of people have successfully stopped using tobacco products by a variety of methods and approaches, but it is tough for most people to quit the habit - very tough indeed.  Don't underestimate the strength of the addiction; if you have tried to quit before, but couldn't, this doesn't mean you were/are weak-willed.  It simply means the timing wasn't right for you, or you didn't "arm" yourself well enough to meet the challenge and be successful.  It's important to mentally and emotionally prepare yourself ahead of time, sketch out a plan of action and organize your support resources.  With that in mind, you should acknowledge two basic issues with quitting: the addictive nature of tobacco and the use of tobacco for both relaxation and pleasure.  In doing so, you will be planning the three basic components of a successful smoking/chewing cessation program: motivation, support systems and coping skills.

When you attempt to quit smoking, you are trying to give up the drug (nicotine) to which your body is addicted.  You are also giving up social and psychological habits that have become very important to you.  As you already know.....this is not easy to do!  A lot of smokers worry about how they'll feel when they're trying to withdraw from using cigarettes.  To be successful, it is often suggested that you build a pre-defined infrastructure of support systems and coping methods upon which you can draw during your stop-smoking efforts.  For example, taking some time to better understand some of the "triggers" that precipitate your desire to "light up" may help you to avoid these situations as you begin to abstain from tobacco use:

  • People - With whom are you most likely to want to smoke?
  • Places - Where are you most likely to want to smoke?
  • Things - With what, e.g. alcohol, coffee, on the phone, etc., are you most likely to want to smoke?
  • Times - When are you most likely to want to smoke, e.g., after meals, when you first get up?  Important: Times when you may be most tempted to smoke may include times when you feel certain ways, e.g., stressed, angry, bored, lonely, sad.

Additionally, it may also help you to anticipate what "feelings" you may experience as you begin, and what you may possibly do to overcome them.  Here are some common complaints from other people who quit, and what they did to feel better. Of course, no two people are exactly alike.  Some people have some of these complaints; others don't have any.

  • Drink water or low-calorie liquids
  • Be prepared with low-calorie snacks
Constipation, Gas, Stomach Pain Intestinal movement decreases for a brief period
  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Add roughage to diet (i.e. fruits, vegetables, whole grain cereals)

Adapted from Cummings et al. Addictive Behaviors Vol. 10:373-381

It's very important to always remember - the feelings are temporary (they will pass!). Over time, as you continue to abstain from tobacco products, your withdrawal symptoms will lessen in both frequency and intensity. They're the body's recovery signs that you're getting better.  Once you get through the first couple of weeks, you'll be on your way to feeling a whole lot better and being in better health.

About Herbs
Herbs are typically classified by reputable botanical authorities (i.e. German E commission, Herb Research Foundation, American Botanical Council, Physicians' Desk Reference) as having certain known properties, classified as:
  • alteratives - herbs that generally alter an existing condition in the body by strengthening or stimulating various systems and eliminating waste from the bloodstream, gradually converting an unhealthy condition into a healthy one.
  • anti-inflammatories - herbs that help reduce inflammation.
  • antimicrobials - herbs that inhibit reproduction and growth of harmful bacteria, fungi or protozoa.
  • astringents - herbs that reduce inflammation of the skin, eyes and mucous membranes and diminish secretions.
  • cardiovascular tonics - herbs that strengthen the physical integrity of the heart and blood vessels, moderate blood pressure and increase circulation.
  • carminatives - herbs that help relieve intestinal gas and indigestion, and are often antispasmodic.
  • demulcents - herbs that soothe and provide a protective lubricating barrier in the digestive and urinary tracts for the passage of wastes, and help relieve irritation of mucous membranes.

About the Support Program
Recognizing these herbal properties, the Independence Stop-Smoking Support Program was developed as another possible aspect of a support structure to increase your chances of successfully quitting your tobacco habits.

The Independence Stop-Smoking Support Program consists of the following three botanical support blends:

1. P1 - CONTROL FORMULA: contains a proprietary blend of twenty-two all-natural herbal ingredients.  The primary herbs of this support formulation consist of nervines and calmatives which are provided as support for those periods of nervous tension and anxiety that may occur when coping with the subconscious habits of smoking.

INDIVIDUAL "P1" ENCAPSULATED SUPPORT PRODUCTS:

Please note: While we use higher strengths of some ingredients in this formula, we do not sell those strengths as single herbs. We do, however, offer them in lesser strengths and offer links to their respective pages here: Myrrh Gum and Slippery Elm Bark.  We do not offer Safflower or Lobelia for individual sale.

2. P2 - CLEANSE FORMULA: contains a proprietary blend of fifteen all-natural constituents of herbal extracts.  The primary herbs of this support formulation consist of alteratives, nutritives and vulneraries which are provided to support the body in ridding itself of nicotine and other toxins that have stored up in the body over the years of tobacco use.

INDIVIDUAL "P2" ENCAPSULATED SUPPORT PRODUCTS:

Please note: While we use higher strengths of some ingredients in this formula, we do not sell those strengths as single herbs.  We do, however, offer them in lesser strengths and offer links to their respective pages here: Dandelion Root 4:1, Barberry Root and Kelp.  We do not offer Buckthorn Bark for individual sale.

3. P3 - MAINTENANCE FORMULA: is an balanced herbal preparation of twenty-one synergistic botanical ingredients.  The primary herbs of this support formulation consist of nutritives, calmatives and vulneraries which are provided for continued support in periods of anxiety or tension which could potentially act as "triggers" to return to previous smoking habits.

INDIVIDUAL "P3" ENCAPSULATED SUPPORT PRODUCTS:

Please note: While we use higher strengths of some ingredients in this formula, we do not sell those strengths as single herbs. We do, however, offer them in lesser strengths and offer links to their respective pages here: Myrrh Gum and Slippery Elm Bark. We do not offer Safflower or Lobelia for individual sale.

The Independence Stop-Smoking Support Programs also include an herbal Aromatherapy Support mixture, which provides immediate stimulation of the brain to help you cope with any physiological and psychological forces that you may experience during the body cleansing period. This mixture of essential oils contains the following:

  • Ylang-Ylang
  • Rosemary
  • Peppermint
  • Lemon
  • Camphor
  • Neutral Oil
  • Mineral Spirits
Please note: Viable Herbal Solutions does not offer the Aromatherapy Support individually, nor do we offer any individual essential oils at this time.
We currently offer two versions of our popular Independence Stop-Smoking Support Program:

the Three (3) Part Stop-Smoking Support Program includes:

  • one (1) bottle of P1 - Control Formula
  • one (1) bottle of P2 - Cleanse Formula
  • one (1) bottle of P3 - Maintenance Formula
  • and a 10 ml bottle of Aromatherapy Support

the Four (4) Part Stop Smoking-Support Program includes:

  • one (1) bottle of P1 - Control Formula
  • one (1) bottle of P2 - Cleanse Formula
  • one (1) bottle of P3 - Maintenance Formula plus
  • one (1) bottle of HerbVal Supra Relaxation Blend
  • and a 10 ml bottle of Aromatherapy Support

While each of these Stop-Smoking Support Programs have been helpful to many others, like yourself, as they have successfully quit the smoking habit over the past eight years, the Four (4) Part Independence Stop-Smoking Support Program has been equipped with an added support product - HerbVal SupraHerbVal Supra is a botanical relaxation blend enhanced by a high concentration of Nature’s most renowned herbal sedatives - Valerian Root and Kava Kava.  Both of these herbs are well-recognized effective relaxants, able to induce strong calmative feelings, while improving mental function and sharpening the senses.  Their tranquilizing effects are the result of selective neurotropic action on higher brain centers, which help to suppress and regulate the autonomic nervous system.  Only in an encapsulated product such as HerbVal Supra could they all be so easily combined. This formulation can be expected to provide mild sedation and tranquilizing at the recommended dosage, and they should be taken whenever those strong urges for a cigarette occur.  Although each of the nervine and sedative herbs in this blend are significant relaxants when used individually, these herbs work best when used in combination.

To begin the Independence Support Program, you must throw away all your remaining cigarettes.  If you can’t do this, then you’re probably not ready to truly stop smoking.  Taking this step may indeed be your hardest task throughout the entire process.  As you begin your planned smoking cessation program, take the P1 - Control support capsules at night before going to bed, and then continue using this support product for the next ten (10) days as directed.  In addition, take the P2 - Cleanse support capsules for the same ten (10) day period as directed.  And finally, the P3 - Maintenance support capsules should be used for the remaining cessation period until the entire supply is depleted (typically twenty more days).  The Aromatherapy Support and the HerbVal Supra Support Formula should be used at any time during the thirty (30)-day period as an additional support aid.

The Independence Stop-Smoking Support Programs, as with all the Viable Herbal Solutions product offerings, contain 100% pure herbal material.  No fillers, grains, soy, yeast, sugars, binders, excipients, starches or synthetic materials are used in the manufacture, or processing, of any of our products.

The cost of the 4-Part Program is only $99........and the cost of the 3-Part Program is only $79.  Does that sound like a fair price for a stop-smoking support program?  If you quickly analyze what you already spend on cigarettes, we think you’ll agree that this price is an unbelievable bargain.
